Since I will be posting theories about the HTTYD dragon, the Hackatoo, come Saturday, I thought I would make another one of my soundtrack compilations for this dragon!
The Hackatoo is a rare Sharp Class dragon with six legs, two wings, and an axe-like snout that it uses for cutting down trees. It's an impulsive, reckless, and wild creature with a crest makes it seem like it's always laughing. It can also shoot fireballs across an impressive distance! This daredevil can not only fly at high altitudes but even lays its own eggs at altitude, after which they can hook onto whatever they hit. Once hatched, even the young Hackatoos can be a handful. Truly it's a dragon that can benefit from training. However, despite being such a wild creature, this forest dweller is also quite intelligent and one of the most generous dragons; some are known to be eager to give gifts. Generally these dragons can be found at the Wild Dragon Cliff, a forest cliff with a gorgeous waterfall where young dragons learn to fly and many young Vikings learn to ride. One Hackatoo, Hackagift, can also be found at the cold Avalanche Range.
For this soundtrack, I focused on the Hackatoo's axe-like snout, wild and impulsive nature, resemblance to a cockatoo, eight limbs, crest, and ability to fly at high altitudes. "Dragon Cliffs" by Derek & Brandon Fiechter refers specifically to Wild Dragon Cliff, and "Gift" by Really Slow Motion refers to Hackagift. I tried to make the soundtrack balance the Hackatoos generous and kind disposition with its crazy behavior, choosing many songs that straddle the line of soothing and exciting or change between the two throughout the piece. I chose "Wild and Free" by Bausic Productions because I felt it most matched this dragon's interesting nature.
Notable individual Hackatoos include Hackgift, Cloudcarver, the Defender Hackatoo from Dragons: Rise of Berk, and the Exotic Hackatoo from Dragons: Rise of Berk.

Dragon Theories: Hushbogle
Hi, everyone! I'm posting on time, look at that! Today's Dragon Theories are going to be on our next dragon, the Hushbogle, a Whispering Death/Snow Wraith hybrid!
This is a hybrid we know a good bit about in terms of its abilities. Along with its firepower being known to us (rings of fire like a Whispering Death with a central fusillade like a Snow Wraith), Hushbogles are also known to have infrared vision like a Snow Wraith and the ability to tunnel in the ground like a Whispering Death. They also have two rows of teeth, which likely aids in the tunneling. Also like their ancestral dragon species, Hushbogles have trouble forming strong bond
Dragon Theories: Deathly Galeslash
Alright, another Dragon Theories post out in a single day! Well...almost, I was a few hours off. Man, playing catch-up is exhausting! Good thing we're caught up now. Finally. After this post, we return to regular Saturday posts!
Today's post is about the Deathly Galeslash, the Deadly Nadder/Stormcutter hybrid! These dragons are fascinating, possessing four wings like a Stormcutter and shooting magnesium flame like a Nadder but in a torus like a Stormcutter. Like Deadly Nadders, they have a big blind spot in front of their nose, but they make up for it with keen eyesight and the ability to detect changes in air currents! They also love to pla
Dragon Theories: Ghastly Zapplejack
Alright, so we're slowly catching up with the schedule. We're now at the post that should have been posted the first Saturday of June. Our hybrid for this post is the Ghastly Zapplejack, the Hideous Zippleback/Timberjack cross!
This dragon is fascinating! Much like its Hideous Zippleback parent, it has two heads, one of which spews flammable gas and the other of which lights that gas. However, the head that flights it doesn't just have a spark; it actually produces the same oil-based fire as the Timberjack. For this dragon, both firepowers came through to the hybrid offspring. And also like the Zippleback, the Zapplejack will use its thick f
Dragon Theories: Brooding Boltstamper
Okay, so here we are...the Brooding Boltstamper! The first hybrid I will be covering! Well...okay, maybe not first hybrd. I already did the Night Light in my updated Night Fury and Light Fury Theories post, and I already did the Chimeragon, but this is my first natural hybrid from two separate species. Eh...that's still a mouthful. First Dragons: Titan Uprising hybrid! There we go!
So the Brooding Boltstamper is a hybrid between a Skrill and a Rumblehorn, and before we get into theories, we should probably cover what we know for sure. Heavy like a Rumblehorn but with a Skrill limb-plan, the Brooding Boltstamper is known for being strong and
